Location:This intimate, 9 room beach-side boutique villa can be found tucked down a by-lane of Bentota, 65km away from the Sri Lankan capital Colombo, on the beautiful South Western Coast. IT is approximately a two and a quarter hour drive south of the airport (approx 100km).

Accommodation: Taru Villas' Taprobana offers nine individually designed supremely comfortable rooms; Each of Taprobana's individually designed rooms and public areas are furnished with carefully selected pieces of object d'art and antiques from Sri Lanka's rich colonial past and ancient heritage.

All rooms have en suite bathrooms with guest amenities & hot & cold water showers, and balconies or terraces that look out to lily ponds and frangipani trees in the garden or across coconut palms towards the ocean. While overhead fans and fresh ocean breeze cool all nine rooms, most offer the option of air-conditioning too. Laundry service is also available and housekeeping is done twice a day. There are 2 categories of rooms, although each has its own distinct character; Standard or Superior, of which the Superior rooms have larger spaces (e.g. terraces / bathrooms / attic) than the Standard rooms.

Facilities: It takes great pride & pleasure in the delicious cuisine on offer, from the tropical fruit-based desserts, homemade pastas and breads, to the "Tamarind Seafood Platter". Whether it is spicy Sri Lankan favourites or pacific rim/asian fusion or even more traditional European dishes, Taru Villas' extensive a la carte menu can cater to most tastes.
