Location: Situated just minutes away from the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Sigiriya Village is an eco-themed hotel set amidst vast acres of tropical trees, foliage, ponds and waterways - all of which attracts numerous species of birds and monkeys. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are 1.5 hours away and the historic Dambulla cave temple is just 30 mins drive. The hotel is four hours drive from Colombo’s International Airport.
Accommodation: There are 120 individually designed earth-toned cottages, each with a bedroom with en suite bathroom, private verandah, with or without air conditioning. Clusters of cottages are named and decorated with reference to rural life.All Standard and Superior rooms are provided withsatellite TV, telephone and mini bar, writing desk and hot / cold showers. The Standard cottages furnished with twin beds while the Superior rooms have large comfortable beds.
Facilities: Meals are served at the main dining area overlooking the swimming pool and the magnificent Sigiriya rock which looms over the treetops. Traditional Sri Lanka rice and curry is a speciality here. Buffets – with Western and Eastern food -- are served for breakfast and lunch. There is also an a la carte menu and room service menu. All meals are prepared using fresh produce directly from the hotel's extensive organic farm.
Sports & Leisure: A swimming pool with separate children's pool, sun deck, indoor games, mini golf, tennis, and badminton. The Ayurvedic Centre, headed by an experienced Ayurvedic Physician, allows guests to experience this indigenous, ancient healing wisdom, which provides the most natural methods of relaxing one's body and mind. All the herbal oils, scrubs, and wraps used for the therapies are prepared using herbs from the hotel's own garden. Traditional dance and music troupes provide nightly entertainment within the main restaurant area. |
