Barberyn Beach Ayurveda Resort was opened in 2003 and is operated by the owners of Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts. They have pooled together the wealth of knowledge, experience and resources acquired over the years in providing Ayurveda treatment and operation of resorts for this project. Contemporary architecture blends beautifully with indigenous design to create feeling of space and light - which brings nature in - for guests to enjoy the healing that comes from within.
Location: is located on the southern tip of Sri Lanka, in the coastal village of Weligama, approximately 140 km from Colombo.
Accommodation: Ochre - colored guest rooms are designed to blend harmoniously to the natural surroundings, with clusters of rooms erected on stilts in the lush valley, sloping down to the sea. All the rooms have balconies and are connected by corridors, which lead to ramps which help guests to walk from the accommodation to the main service building including the health centre; the ramps have been designed to ensure wheel chair access. The resort has three categories of rooms: Deluxe Studio Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Standard Rooms. The spacious rooms are furnished to a high level of comfort using natural material. Rooms are bright and airy with high ceilings and ceiling fans, mosquito nets and en suite toilets. The majority of the rooms have four poster beds. There is no television or music in the bedroom. You can hear the sounds of soft chanting from scriptures in the morning and evening as you pass the entrance
Facilities: Sea view dining room serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Barberyn Chefs and the health Centre work closely to bring you a variety of wholesome and delicious meals. Conference facilities, Asian silks and craft shop, IDD, Shrine room, Laundry, Tailoring.
Sports & Leisure: Swimming pool overlooking the ocean. Ayurveda health centre. providing effective professional and caring ayurveda therapies. The health centre has the benefit of over20 years experience of its sister resort, Barberyn Reef. You can also watch television, view videos or listen to music in the conference centre. Ayurveda lectures, Yoga and meditation pavilion - the yoga sessions are held daily and the yoga and tai chi are free of charge for resident guests.
