South Point Villa is a modern villa with smart and stylish interiors. The hospitality here resembles a typical Sri Lankan home – caring, warm and gentle with your comfort and needs always a priority. For families travelling with children, a nanny can be organised. The idyllic location of this villa, just a few feet away from the beach, lends itself naturally for a perfect beach holiday. Relax on the lawn with a good book, have an afternoon siesta in the shade of some mangroves, or dine by candlelight on the wooden-decked terrace. The picture-postcard views, including stilt fisherman on the distant horizon, make this place inspirational for artists and writers alike. The owners also have a neighbouring property, called South Point Abbey, which is a colonial beach house. A connecting door gives direct access making the two properties ideal for two families travelling together.

Location:South Point is an impressive south coast villa, situated by the beachside in the fishing hamlet of Kathaluwa near Galle. The garden steps out directly onto a stretch of white sandy beach that is safe for children. The sea at this point, with its beautiful coral formations, provides relatively safe swimming, snorkelling and diving. The journey to South Point Villa from Colombo’s International Airport will take approximately four hours - or take the Air Taxi and fly to Koggala, which is a five-minute drive away from the villa. The historic Galle Dutch Fort is only a 15 minutes drive. Unawatuna beach, Weligama & Mirissa as well as Koggala Lake are also nearby.

Accommodation: The three large a/c bedrooms have inviting four-poster beds with overhead canopies fitted tastefully with mosquito nets. The master bedroom has two four-poster beds with a direct sea view. An antique Almairah, a bureau to do your writing, satellite TV, DVD player, internet access, are all part of the luxurious facilties in each of the bedrooms. Teak and Asian oak floors adds to the warmth of this house. All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms with ‘his and her’ washbasins, hot/w showers and a range of herbal soaps.

Facilities:
The main living area includes a combined sitting and dining room, tastefully furnished with an Indonesian flourish, and a wooden-decked terrace that provides for wonderful alfresco meals. There is a freshwater swimming pool in a side garden with its own ‘Jacuzzi bench’ at one end with views of the sea, perfect for the blood-red sunsets. The grassed frontage is ideal for sunbathing and snoozing. Western dishes and Sri Lankan rice and curries using locally available ingredients are served. Fresh seafood dishes prepared from the catch of the day are a speciality. If you wish to do your own cooking, there is a well-equipped modern kitchen with the in-house chef giving you a helping hand. The villa is fully staffed inclusive of an English speaking Public Relations manager, who is on duty from 7am to 6.30pm daily. The staff is helpful, courteous and eager to please, whilst also sensitive to the need for privacy.
